SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Alma A. VanMiddlesworth of Canton, who 
4
passed away on November 19, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, She was born on June 11, 1915 in Orion Township, 
6
Fulton County, to William H. and Elsie Jane (Johns) Peterson; 
7
she married J. Esta VanMiddlesworth on October 2, 1934 in 
8
Pekin; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Alma was an Avon Representative for many years and 
10
had received several service awards; she was a member of the 
11
First Church of the Nazarene in Canton; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, She was past president of the Anderson School 
13
P.T.A., and had a lifetime membership in the National P.T.A. 
14
organization; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband;  her 
16
parents; her  sisters, Hazel E. Ruey-Williamson and Mabel Davis; 
17
her brother, George A. Peterson; and her grandchild, Shannan 
18
VanMiddlesworth; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, Alma VanMiddlesworth is survived by her son, James 
20
Alan (Judy) VanMiddlesworth; her daughter, Peggy Jane

(Darrell) Meisinger; her sister-in-law, Lucille Peterson; her 
2
grandchildren, Tobi (Peter) Datillo, Nicolas VanMiddlesworth, 
3
Cole (Darla) Meisinger, and Kathryn Bouton; her  eight 
4
great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchild; therefore, 
5
be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
7
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
8
her family and friends, the passing of Alma VanMiddlesworth; 
9
and be it further

 
10
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11
presented to the family of Alma VanMiddlesworth as a symbol of 
12
our sincere sympathy.
