Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Downstate Teacher Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Allows a teacher to establish service credit for service in an amount not greater than 5 years for employment by the New York School for the Deaf if such employment occurred before January 1, 1975. Requires payment of employee and employer contributions, plus interest.

House Floor Amendment No. 1
Reduces the number of years of employment the member may establish credit for from 5 to 2. Requires the member to apply for the service within 12 months after the effective date of the amendatory Act.
