Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that no municipality may prohibit the display of outdoor political campaign signs on residential property during the period beginning 35 days before a consolidated primary, general primary, consolidated, or general election and ending 5 days after that election.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that no municipality may prohibit the display of outdoor political campaign signs on residential property during the period beginning 45 days (in the bill, 35 days) before a consolidated primary, general primary, consolidated, or general election.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the engrossed bill with changes. Provides that a municipality may place reasonable restrictions on the size of outdoor political campaign signs on residential property. Provides that no municipality may prohibit the display of outdoor political campaign signs on residential property during any period of time (instead of during a specified period of time before a consolidated primary, general primary, consolidated, or general election). Limits the concurrent exercise of home rule powers.
