Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the State Designations Act. Designates portraits of Illinois Governors displayed in the State Capitol as the official State portraits of the Governors of Illinois. Prohibits inclusion among those official portraits any image of a Governor who has been removed from office by impeachment and conviction.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the bill as introduced with the following changes: Prohibits a portrait of an impeached and convicted Governor from being financed or paid for by the State or a State entity or with State funds, but permits the State to display and maintain the portrait among the official portraits of Governors.

 HB 5109 has no fiscal impact on the Secretary of State's Office.
