Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Department of Natural Resources (Conservation) Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires conservation police officers to demonstrate their ability to swim at a competency level that has been established by the American Red Cross and approved by the Department in an administrative rule (rather than at a competency level established by the American Red Cross for skills equivalent to an intermediate level swimmer). Effective immediately.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Department of Natural Resources (Conservation) Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires conservation police officers to demonstrate their ability to swim at a competency level approved by the Department of Natural Resources in an administrative rule (rather than at a level established by the American Red Cross and approved by the Department in an administrative rule). Provides that the Department's administrative rule must require the person to use techniques established by the American Red Cross. Effective immediately.
