Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Economic Development for a Growing Economy Tax Credit Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the purpose of the Act.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Property Tax Code. Provides that, if property is annexed to a municipality under a provision of the Illinois Municipal Code that allows annexation of property containing 60 acres or less by municipal ordinance at any time during the taxable year, the taxpayer may apply to the municipality for a refund of the amount of property taxes (i) paid by the taxpayer, (ii) distributed to the municipality, and (iii) attributable to the annexed property for the portion of the taxable year during which the property was not included in the municipality. Provides that the municipality shall refund those amounts to the taxpayer within 60 days after the application is received. Preempts home rule powers. Effective immediately.
