Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the School Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning teacher certification.

Adds reference to:
30 ILCS 595/30 new

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Local Food, Farms, and Jobs Act. Requires the Department of Agriculture to establish, and make available on its website, a geo-coded electronic database to facilitate the purchase of fresh produce and food products by schools. Requires the database to be developed jointly with the Local Food, Farms, and Jobs Council and, at a minimum, to contain the information necessary for (i) schools to identify and contact agricultural producers that are interested in supplying schools in the State with fresh produce and food products and (ii) agricultural producers of fresh produce and food products to identify schools in the State that are interested in purchasing those products. Requires the Department to adopt rules and solicit federal and State funding to implement this database. Provides that the requirement of the Department to establish, and make available on its website, this database shall become effective once the Department has secured all of the additional federal or State funding necessary to implement this program.
