Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987. Provides that the physician assistant advisory committee shall review and make recommendations to the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and the Medical Licensing Board regarding matters relating to physician assistants (now, only the Board). Provides that "matters relating to physician assistants" shall include, but not be limited to: (1) applications for licensure; (2) disciplinary proceedings; (3) renewal requirements; and (4) any other issues pertaining to the regulation and practice of physician assistants in the State. In the Section concerning the physician assistant advisory committee, replaces all references to the term "certified" with "licensed". Effective immediately.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
In a provision concerning the physician assistant committee, provides that the committee may review and make recommendations to the Department and the Board regarding all matters relating to physician assistants (instead of "shall review and make"). Provides that such matters may include certain issues (instead of "shall include").

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that 4 members of the physician assistant advisory committee shall constitute a quorum (instead of a majority) and a quorum is required to perform all of the duties of the committee.
