Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the State Employee Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Allows a member to establish service credit for up to 24 days of voluntary or involuntary furlough, beginning on or after July 1, 2009 and ending on or before June 30, 2011, used to address a State fiscal emergency. Provides that no additional contribution is required for this credit. Effective immediately.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the State Employee Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Allows a member to establish service credit for up to 25 days of voluntary or involuntary furlough, beginning on or after July 1, 2008 and ending on or before June 30, 2011, used to address a State fiscal emergency. Requires the member to make employee contributions, plus an amount determined by the Board to be equal to the employer's normal cost of the benefit, plus interest at the actuarially assumed rate. Effective immediately.
