Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act. Changes the definition of the term "subject of report" to mean any child reported to the central register of child abuse and neglect as an alleged victim of child abuse or neglect and the parent or guardian of the alleged victim (rather than any child reported to the central register of child abuse and neglect and his or her parent, guardian, or other person responsible who is also named in the report). Provides that "subject of report" also includes a person responsible for the child's welfare who is also named in the report as an alleged perpetrator of child abuse or neglect. Further provides that within a specified time frame a subject of a report who is indicated for child abuse and neglect may request the Department of Children and Family Services to amend the record or remove the record of the report from the central register.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1

	Deletes reference to:
	325 ILCS 5/7.16	from CH. 23, par. 2057.16

Changes the definition of the term "subject of report" to mean any child reported to the central register of child abuse and neglect as an alleged victim of child abuse or neglect and the parent or guardian of the alleged victim or other person responsible for the alleged victim's welfare who is named in the report or added to the report as an alleged perpetrator of child abuse or neglect (rather than, "subject of report" also includes a person responsible for the child's welfare who is also named in the report as an alleged perpetrator of child abuse or neglect). Eliminates language providing that a subject of a report who is indicated for child abuse and neglect may request the Department of Children and Family Services to amend or remove the record of the report from the central register.
