Synopsis As Introduced
Creates the Recess in Schools Task Force to examine the barriers facing schools in providing daily recess to every age-appropriate student and make recommendations in a final report to the General Assembly by June 30, 2010.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Changes language to provide that certain appointment to the Recess in Schools Task Force be made by the Governor instead of by specified parties. Provides that the Task Force must meet within 60 days after the adoption of the resolution (instead of meeting regularly) and submit a final report to the General Assembly by January 1, 2011 (rather than June 30, 2010) with its recommendations for bringing recess back to the maximum number of students.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Includes language to specify that the Recess in Schools Task Force is created within the State Board of Education and that the Board shall provide administrative and other support to the Task Force.
