Amends the School Code. Requires the Chicago Board of Education, in each school building in the school district, to post the date of the last fire alarm inspection at the building and the capacity of the building. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement.

| AN ACT concerning education.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
5 |
| 34-18.37 as follows: |
6 |
| (105 ILCS 5/34-18.37 new)
|
7 |
| Sec. 34-18.37. Posting of fire alarm inspection date and |
8 |
| building capacity. In each school building in the school |
9 |
| district, the board shall post the date of the last fire alarm |
10 |
| inspection at the building and the capacity of the building.

| Section 90. The State Mandates Act is amended by adding |
12 |
| Section 8.33 as follows: |

| (30 ILCS 805/8.33 new) |
14 |
| Sec. 8.33. Exempt mandate. Notwithstanding Sections 6 and 8 |
15 |
| of this Act, no reimbursement by the State is required for the |
16 |
| implementation of any mandate created by this amendatory Act of |
17 |
| the 96th General Assembly.
