| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 72

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 72 on page 2, by | ||||||
| 3 | replacing lines 11 through 19 with the following: | ||||||
| 4 | "(e) A person, regardless of age, may not use a wireless
| ||||||
| 5 | telephone at any time while operating a motor vehicle on a | ||||||
| 6 | roadway in a school speed
zone established under Section | ||||||
| 7 | 11-605, or on a highway in a construction or
maintenance speed | ||||||
| 8 | zone established under Section 11-605.1.
This subsection (e) | ||||||
| 9 | does not apply to a person engaged in a
highway construction or | ||||||
| 10 | maintenance project for which a
construction or maintenance | ||||||
| 11 | speed zone has been established
under Section 11-605.1 or when | ||||||
| 12 | the person is using a wireless
telephone for emergency | ||||||
| 13 | purposes, including, but not limited to,
law enforcement | ||||||
| 14 | agency, health care provider, fire department, or
other | ||||||
| 15 | emergency services agency or entity.".
