SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
625 ILCS 35/6   from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 806

    Amends the Cycle Rider Safety Training Act. Provides for certain disbursements from the Cycle Rider Safety Training Fund notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary adopted after the effective date of the amendatory Act. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Cycle Rider Safety Training Act is amended
5 by changing Section 6 as follows:
 
6     (625 ILCS 35/6)  (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 806)
7     Sec. 6. To finance the Cycle Rider Safety Training program
8 and to pay the costs thereof, the Secretary of State will
9 hereafter deposit with the State Treasurer an amount equal to
10 each annual fee and each reduced fee, for the registration of
11 each motorcycle, motor driven cycle and motorized pedalcycle
12 processed by the Office of the Secretary of State during the
13 preceding quarter as required in subsection (d) of Section
14 2-119 of the Illinois Vehicle Code, which amount the State
15 Comptroller shall transfer quarterly to a trust fund outside of
16 the State treasury to be known as the Cycle Rider Safety
17 Training Fund, which is hereby created. In addition, the
18 Department may accept any federal, State, or private moneys for
19 deposit into the Fund and shall be used by the Department only
20 for the expenses of the Department in administering the
21 provisions of this Act, for funding of contracts with approved
22 Regional Cycle Rider Safety Training Centers for the conduct of
23 courses, or for any purpose related or incident thereto and

1 connected therewith, notwithstanding any other law to the
2 contrary adopted after the effective date of this amendatory
3 Act of the 96th General Assembly.
