AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 528

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 528, AS AMENDED,

with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No.

2, on page 1, line 5 by deleting "Section 5. The State 
5
Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971"; and

by deleting lines 6 through 16 of page 1, all of pages 2 
7
through 6, and lines 1 through 9 of page 7; and

on page 8, by replacing lines 13 through 18 with the following:

"except as otherwise provided by law. Within 24 hours of 
10
receiving medical services from a health care provider, each 
11
patient has a right to be informed of his or her inpatient or 
12
outpatient status. If within that time period the health care 
13
provider has yet to designate the patient as either inpatient 
14
or outpatient, the patient must be informed of this fact and 
15
put on notice that his or her subsequent status may affect 
16
coverage by his or her health insurance policy or health care
