| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 528, AS AMENDED, |

| with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No. |

| 2, on page 1, line 5 by deleting "Section 5. The State |

| Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971"; and

| by deleting lines 6 through 16 of page 1, all of pages 2 |
| 7 |
| through 6, and lines 1 through 9 of page 7; and
|
| 8 |
| on page 8, by replacing lines 13 through 18 with the following: |

| "except as otherwise provided by law. Within 24 hours of |
| 10 |
| receiving medical services from a health care provider, each |
| 11 |
| patient has a right to be informed of his or her inpatient or |
| 12 |
| outpatient status. If within that time period the health care |
| 13 |
| provider has yet to designate the patient as either inpatient |
| 14 |
| or outpatient, the patient must be informed of this fact and |
| 15 |
| put on notice that his or her subsequent status may affect |
| 16 |
| coverage by his or her health insurance policy or health care |
