| AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 723

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 723 on page 4, by |

| replacing lines 8 through 18 with the following:

| "filled only by a person designated by the appropriate |
| 5 |
| committee of the political party and only if that designated |
| 6 |
| person files nominating petitions with the number of signatures |
| 7 |
| required for an established party candidate for that office |
| 8 |
| within 75 days after the day of the general primary. The |
| 9 |
| circulation period for those petitions begins on the day the |
| 10 |
| appropriate committee designates that person. The person shall |
| 11 |
| file his or her nominating petitions, statements of candidacy, |
| 12 |
| notice of appointment by the appropriate committee, and receipt |
| 13 |
| of filing his or her statement of economic interests together. |
| 14 |
| The State Board of Elections shall hear and pass upon all |
| 15 |
| objections to nomination petitions filed by candidates under |
| 16 |
| this paragraph. created,".
