| AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1057

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1057 on page 5, |

| lines 19 and 20, by replacing "while the officer is performing |
| 4 |
| his or her official duties" with "whenever (i) an officer |
| 5 |
| assigned a patrol vehicle is conducting an enforcement stop; or |
| 6 |
| (ii) patrol vehicle emergency lights are activated or would |
| 7 |
| otherwise be activated if not for the need to conceal the |
| 8 |
| presence of law enforcement"; and
|
| 9 |
| on page 5, line 24, by inserting after "agency" the following: |
| 10 |
| ". For the purposes of this subsection (h), "enforcement stop" |
| 11 |
| means an action by an officer of the Department of State Police |
| 12 |
| in relation to enforcement and investigation duties, including |
| 13 |
| but not limited to, traffic stops, pedestrian stops, abandoned |
| 14 |
| vehicle contacts, motorist assists, commercial motor vehicle |
| 15 |
| stops, roadside safety checks, requests for identification, or |
| 16 |
| responses to requests for emergency assistance".
