| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1057

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1057 on page 5, | ||||||
| 3 | lines 19 and 20, by replacing "while the officer is performing | ||||||
| 4 | his or her official duties" with "whenever (i) an officer | ||||||
| 5 | assigned a patrol vehicle is conducting an enforcement stop; or | ||||||
| 6 | (ii) patrol vehicle emergency lights are activated or would | ||||||
| 7 | otherwise be activated if not for the need to conceal the | ||||||
| 8 | presence of law enforcement"; and
| ||||||
| 9 | on page 5, line 24, by inserting after "agency" the following: | ||||||
| 10 | ". For the purposes of this subsection (h), "enforcement stop" | ||||||
| 11 | means an action by an officer of the Department of State Police | ||||||
| 12 | in relation to enforcement and investigation duties, including | ||||||
| 13 | but not limited to, traffic stops, pedestrian stops, abandoned | ||||||
| 14 | vehicle contacts, motorist assists, commercial motor vehicle | ||||||
| 15 | stops, roadside safety checks, requests for identification, or | ||||||
| 16 | responses to requests for emergency assistance".
