1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1057

2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1057 on page 5, | ||||||
3 | lines 19 and 20, by replacing " while the officer is performing | ||||||
4 | his or her official duties " with " whenever (i) an officer | ||||||
5 | assigned a patrol vehicle is conducting an enforcement stop; or | ||||||
6 | (ii) patrol vehicle emergency lights are activated or would | ||||||
7 | otherwise be activated if not for the need to conceal the | ||||||
8 | presence of law enforcement "; and

9 | on page 5, line 24, by inserting after " agency " the following: | ||||||
10 | " . For the purposes of this subsection (h), "enforcement stop" | ||||||
11 | means an action by an officer of the Department of State Police | ||||||
12 | in relation to enforcement and investigation duties, including | ||||||
13 | but not limited to, traffic stops, pedestrian stops, abandoned | ||||||
14 | vehicle contacts, motorist assists, commercial motor vehicle | ||||||
15 | stops, roadside safety checks, requests for identification, or | ||||||
16 | responses to requests for emergency assistance ".
