1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1057

2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1057 on page 5, | ||||||
3 | lines 19 and 20, by replacing " while the officer is performing | ||||||
4 | his or her official duties " with " whenever (i) an officer | ||||||
5 | assigned a patrol vehicle is conducting an enforcement stop; | ||||||
6 | (ii) when patrol vehicle emergency lights are activated or | ||||||
7 | would otherwise be activated if not for the need to conceal the | ||||||
8 | presence of law enforcement; or (iii) when using a taser or | ||||||
9 | similar weapon or device equipped with a camera "; and

10 | on page 5, line 24, by inserting after " agency " the following: | ||||||
11 | " . For the purposes of this subsection (h), "enforcement stop" | ||||||
12 | means an action by a law enforcement officer in relation to | ||||||
13 | enforcement and investigation duties, including but not | ||||||
14 | limited to, traffic stops, pedestrian stops, abandoned vehicle | ||||||
15 | contacts, motorist assists, commercial motor vehicle stops, | ||||||
16 | roadside safety checks, requests for identification, or | ||||||
17 | responses to requests for emergency assistance ".
