| AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1499

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1499 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The General Assembly Compensation Act is |

| amended by adding Section 2.1 as follows:

| (25 ILCS 115/2.1 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 2.1. Furlough days. If the General Assembly, by law, |
| 8 |
| requires any State employees to take one or more unpaid days |
| 9 |
| off as furlough days, then each and every member of the General |
| 10 |
| Assembly is mandatorily required to take at least an equivalent |
| 11 |
| number of unpaid days off as furlough days in the same period |
| 12 |
| during which the employees must take the furlough days.

| 13 |
| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 14 |
| becoming law.".
