| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1499

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1499 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | "Section 5. The General Assembly Compensation Act is | ||||||
| 5 | amended by adding Section 2.1 as follows: | ||||||
| 6 | (25 ILCS 115/2.1 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 2.1. Furlough days. If the General Assembly, by law, | ||||||
| 8 | requires any State employees to take one or more unpaid days | ||||||
| 9 | off as furlough days, then each and every member of the General | ||||||
| 10 | Assembly is mandatorily required to take at least an equivalent | ||||||
| 11 | number of unpaid days off as furlough days in the same period | ||||||
| 12 | during which the employees must take the furlough days.
| ||||||
| 13 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
| 14 | becoming law.".
