| AN ACT concerning regulation.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Nurse Practice Act is amended by changing |
5 |
| Section 55-30 as follows: |
6 |
| (225 ILCS 65/55-30) |

| (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2018)
|

| Sec. 55-30. LPN scope of practice. |
9 |
| (a) Practice as a licensed practical nurse means a scope of |
10 |
| basic nursing practice, with or without compensation, as |
11 |
| delegated by a registered professional nurse or an advanced |
12 |
| practice nurse or as directed by a physician assistant, |
13 |
| physician, dentist, or podiatrist, and
and includes, but is not |
14 |
| limited to, all of the following: |
15 |
| (1) Collecting data and collaborating in the |
16 |
| assessment of the health status of a patient. |
17 |
| (2) Collaborating in the development and modification |
18 |
| of the registered professional nurse's or advanced |
19 |
| practice nurse's comprehensive nursing plan of care for all |
20 |
| types of patients. |
21 |
| (3) Implementing aspects of the plan of care as |
22 |
| delegated. |

| (4) Participating in health teaching and counseling to |
