Amends the Metropolitan Transit Authority Act. Provides that the Board of the Metropolitan Transit Authority must develop written protocols to respond to medical and sanitation emergencies and to other safety hazards. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning local government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Metropolitan Transit Authority Act is |
5 |
| amended by adding Section 53 as follows: |
6 |
| (70 ILCS 3605/53 new) |
7 |
| Sec. 53. Emergency protocols. Within 6 months after the |
8 |
| effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th General |
9 |
| Assembly, the Board must develop written protocols to respond |
10 |
| to medical and sanitation emergencies and to other safety |
11 |
| hazards.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
13 |
| becoming law.
