AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2325

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2325, AS AMENDED,
3 with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment No.
4 1 as follows:
 
5 on page 3, by replacing line 7 with the following:
6          "4. Within 10 days after the employee's or member's
7     Upon termination or reduction in hours below the"; and
 
8 on page 3, by replacing lines 10 through 19 with the following:
9 "by the employer. If the employee or member is unavailable,
10 written notice shall be or mailed by the employer to the last
11 known address of the employee or member within 10 days after
12 the employee's or member's termination or reduction in hours
13 below the minimum required by the group plan. The employer
14 shall also send a copy of the notice to the insurer. An

9     "In the event the employee or member contacts the insurer
10 regarding continuation rights and advises that notice has not

12 insurer shall provide a written explanation to the employee or
13 member of the employee's or member's continuation rights
14 pursuant to this Section. The insurer shall not deny coverage
15 to the employee or member due to the employer's failure to
16 provide notice pursuant to this Section to the employee or
17 member."; and
