| A temporary permit may be issued by the Department to a |
2 |
| person who is a
veterinarian licensed under the laws of another |
3 |
| state, a territory of the
United States, or a foreign country, |
4 |
| upon application in writing to the
Department for a license |
5 |
| under this Act if he or she is qualified
to receive a
license |
6 |
| and until: (1) the expiration of 6 months after the filing of |
7 |
| the
written application, (2) the withdrawal of the application |
8 |
| or (3) the denial of
the application by the Department.

| A temporary permit issued under this Section shall not be |
10 |
| extended
or renewed. The holder of a temporary permit shall |
11 |
| perform only those acts
that may be prescribed by and |
12 |
| incidental to his or her employment and that act
shall be |
13 |
| performed under the direction of a supervising veterinarian who |
14 |
| is licensed in this State. The holder of the
temporary permit |
15 |
| shall not be entitled to otherwise engage in the
practice of
|
16 |
| veterinary medicine until fully licensed in this State.
|
17 |
| Upon the revocation of a temporary permit, the Department |
18 |
| shall
immediately notify, by certified mail, the supervising
|
19 |
| veterinarian employing the holder
of a temporary permit and the |
20 |
| holder of the permit. A temporary permit
shall be revoked by |
21 |
| the Department upon proof that the holder of the permit has
|
22 |
| engaged in the practice of veterinary medicine in this State |
23 |
| outside his or
her employment under a licensed veterinarian.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
26 |
| becoming law.
