    Amends the Child Care Act of 1969. Provides that no childcare facility licensed under the Act may refuse to accept a child who is at least 3 weeks old solely on the basis of the child's age.

    AN ACT concerning child care.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended  by adding

Section 4.6 as follows:

    (225 ILCS 10/4.6  new)

    Sec. 4.6. Childcare facilities; 3-week old children.

    (a) No childcare facility licensed under this Act may 
9
refuse to accept a child who is at least 3 weeks old solely on 
10
the basis of the child's age.

    (b) The Department of Children and Family Services shall 
12
promulgate rules to ensure compliance with this Section.
