| AN ACT concerning former prisoners of war.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Historic Preservation Agency Act is amended |
| 5 |
| by adding Section 27 as follows:
|

| Sec. 27. Former POWs; free admission. Every veteran who is |
| 8 |
| a resident of Illinois and a former prisoner of war is exempt |
| 9 |
| from all admission fees in museums that receive State funds. |
| 10 |
| For the purposes of this Section, a former prisoner of war is a |
| 11 |
| veteran who was taken and held prisoner by a hostile foreign |
| 12 |
| force while participating in an armed conflict as a member of |
| 13 |
| the United States Armed Forces. Any identification card or |
| 14 |
| other form of identification issued by the Veterans' |
| 15 |
| Administration or other governmental agency that indicates the |
| 16 |
| card-holder's former prisoner of war status is sufficient to |
| 17 |
| accord the card-holder the fee-exempt admission privileges |
| 18 |
| under this Section.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 20 |
| becoming law.
