SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 		













5 ILCS 120/8 new










    Amends the Open Meetings Act.  Provides that the Act is not violated when, without notice or minutes, a majority of the quorum of one public body attends and discusses public business at a meeting of another public body that complies with the Act's notice and minutes requirements.  Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning government.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Open Meetings Act is amended  by adding 
5
Section 8 as follows:

    (5 ILCS 120/8  new)

    Sec. 8. Meetings of other public bodies.  A violation of 
8
this Act does not occur when a majority of the quorum of 
9
members of a public body, without giving notice and taking 
10
written minutes, attends and discusses public business at a 
11
meeting of another public body for which notice was given and 
12
at which minutes are taken in accordance with this Act.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
14
becoming law.
