    AN ACT concerning education.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 
3
represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended by 
5
changing Section 2-2 as follows:

    Sec. 2-2. The
The members of the State Board shall be 
8
citizens and residents of the
State of Illinois and shall be 
9
selected as far as may be practicable on the
basis of their 
10
knowledge of, or interest and experience in,
community 
11
colleges. No member of the State Board shall hold current

12
membership on a school board or board of trustees of a public 
13
or non-public
 university or technical institute or be employed 
14
by the State or
federal government.
15
    This Section does not prohibit a member of the State Board

16
from being employed by a public community college.
