1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2950

2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2950 by replacing | ||||||
3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4 | "Section 5. The State Finance Act is amended by adding | ||||||
5 | Sections 5.719 and 6z-76 as follows: | ||||||
6 | (30 ILCS 105/5.719 new) | ||||||
7 | Sec. 5.719. The Habitat for Humanity Fund. | ||||||
8 | (30 ILCS 105/6z-76 new)
| ||||||
9 | Sec. 6z-76. The Habitat for Humanity Fund; creation. The | ||||||
10 | Habitat for Humanity Fund is created as a special fund in the | ||||||
11 | State treasury. Moneys in the Fund shall be appropriated to the | ||||||
12 | Department of Human Services for the purpose of making grants | ||||||
13 | to Habitat for Humanity of Illinois, Inc., for the purpose of | ||||||
14 | supporting Habitat for Humanity projects in Illinois. |

1 | Section 10. The Illinois Income Tax Act is amended by | ||||||
2 | adding Section 507SS as follows: | ||||||
3 | (35 ILCS 5/507SS new) | ||||||
4 | Sec. 507SS. Habitat for Humanity fund checkoff. Beginning
| ||||||
5 | with taxable years ending on December 31, 2009, the Department
| ||||||
6 | shall print on
its standard individual income tax form a | ||||||
7 | provision indicating that if the
taxpayer wishes to contribute | ||||||
8 | to the Habitat for Humanity Fund
as authorized by this | ||||||
9 | amendatory Act of the 96th General Assembly, he or she may do | ||||||
10 | so by stating
the amount of the contribution (not less than $1) | ||||||
11 | on the return and that the
contribution will reduce the | ||||||
12 | taxpayer's refund or increase the amount of the
payment to | ||||||
13 | accompany the return. Failure to remit any amount of increased
| ||||||
14 | payment shall reduce the contribution accordingly. This | ||||||
15 | Section shall not
apply to an amended return.

16 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
17 | becoming law.".
