AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3636

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3636, on page 1, 
3
immediately above line 4, by inserting the following:

    "Section 3. If and only if Senate Bill 1490 of the 96th 
5
General Assembly (as amended by House Amendment No. 1) becomes 
6
law, the Department of Human Services Act is amended  by 
7
changing Section 10-6 as follows:

    (20 ILCS 1305/10-6)

    Sec. 10-6. The Crisis Nursery Fund. The Crisis Nursery Fund 
10
is created as a special fund in the State treasury. From 
11
appropriations to the Department  from the Fund, the Department 
12
shall make grants, in equal amounts, to  crisis nurseries 
13
located in Illinois. For the purposes of this Section, a 
14
"crisis nursery" is an organization licensed by the Department 
15
of Children and Family Services that operates on a continuous 
16
basis and provides immediate crisis child care, respite care,

parent support, and parent education groups.  A child care 
2
center does not qualify as a crisis nursery under this Section.
