SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Amends Public Act 95-0731. Provides that amounts appropriated from the Predatory Lending Database Program Fund to the Department of Revenue for grants pursuant to the Predatory Lending Database Program, administered by the Illinois Housing Development Authority, may also be expended for grants to any HUD-certified counseling agency in any county for: mortgage default counseling activities listed in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Housing Counseling Program Handbook; and counseling to a borrower as specified in the Residential Real Property Disclosure Act. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning appropriations.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. “AN ACT concerning appropriations”, approved July 7, 2008, Public Act 95-731, is amended, in Article 34, by changing Section 12 as follows:

Sec. 12. The sum of $3,000,000 is appropriated from the Predatory Lending Database Program Fund to the Department of Revenue for grants pursuant to the Predatory Lending Database Program, administered by the Illinois Housing Development Authority, and for grants to any HUD-certified counseling agency in any county for: counseling described in Mortgage Default items (1) through (12) in Chapter 3 of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Housing Counseling Program Handbook 7610.1, Rev-4; and counseling to a borrower as specified in Section 73 of the Residential Real Property Disclosure Act.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
