AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3878

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3878 on page 1, by

replacing line 9 with the following:

    "(a) In this Section:
5
    "Closing" means ceasing all operations under an existing 
6
facility license or professional license that results in 
7
patients no longer being treated at the closed location.
8
    "Health care facility" or "facility""; and

on page 1, by replacing lines 14 through 16 with the following:
10
    "(b) A hospital must provide a written pre-closing 
11
statement to the Department no less than 90 days before 
12
permanently closing its facility. A health care facility other 
13
than a hospital must provide a written pre-closing statement to 
14
the Department no less than 45 days before permanently closing 
15
its facility. The statement must".
