SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 1305/10-65 new

    Amends the Department of Human Services Act. Provides that the Department shall ensure that its official Internet web site provides a user-friendly method for finding healthcare programs and services in Illinois. Provides that those programs must include at least Medicaid, the Covering ALL KIDS Health Insurance Program, the State Children's Health Insurance Program, and others. Provides that the Department also must make available printed information concerning those programs. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Department of Human Services Act is amended
5 by adding Section 10-65 as follows:
 
6     (20 ILCS 1305/10-65 new)
7     Sec. 10-65. Information concerning healthcare programs and
8 services.
9     (a) The Department shall ensure that its official Internet
10 web site provides a user-friendly method for finding all
11 publicly funded healthcare programs and services in Illinois.
12 Those programs must include at least the following:
13         (1) Medical assistance under the Illinois Public Aid
14     Code.
15         (2) The Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan.
16         (3) The Children's Health Insurance Program, including
17     KidCare and FamilyCare.
18         (4) The Covering ALL KIDS Health Insurance Program.
19         (5) The Breast and Cervical Cancer Program established
20     under Title XV of the federal Public Health Services Act.
21     (b) The Department shall make information concerning the
22 programs described in subsection (a) available in printed
23 format. That information must include at least the following:

1         (1) Income eligibility guidelines.
2         (2) Persons eligible to participate.
3         (3) Procedures for enrolling.
4         (4) Web sites, telephone numbers, and other contact
5     information.
 
6     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
7 becoming law.
