| AN ACT concerning State government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The State Comptroller Act is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 30 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (15 ILCS 405/30 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 30. Comprehensive annual financial reports. The |
| 8 |
| Comptroller shall publish each comprehensive annual financial |
| 9 |
| report (CAFR) within 6 months after the end of the fiscal year |
| 10 |
| to which the report relates. If the report is not published |
| 11 |
| within that period, the Comptroller must promptly give notice |
| 12 |
| of the delay to the Governor, the Speaker and Minority Leader |
| 13 |
| of the House of Representatives, and the President and Minority |
| 14 |
| Leader of the Senate and post notice of the delay on the |
| 15 |
| Comptroller's official website.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, |
| 17 |
| 2009.
