SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 		














60 ILCS 1/50-15









    Amends the Township Code. Provides that, beginning with elections in 2013, the township collectors elected at the township election shall enter upon their duties on the third Monday in May (instead of January 1) following their election and qualification. Provides that, beginning with elections in 2013, the township and multi-township assessors shall enter upon their duties on the third Monday of May (instead of January 1) following their election. Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning local government.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Township Code is amended  by changing Section 
5
50-15 as follows:

    (60 ILCS 1/50-15)

    Sec. 50-15. Time of entering upon duties.

    (a) Beginning with elections in 2013, in In all counties, 
9
the township collectors elected at the township
election shall

enter upon their duties on the third Monday of May January 1 
11
next following their
election and qualification.

    (b) In all counties, township supervisors and township 
13
clerks shall enter upon their duties on the third

Monday
of May

following their election.

    (c) Beginning with elections in 2013, 1981 in all counties,

the township and
multi-township assessors shall enter upon

their duties on the third Monday of May January 1 next

following their election.
