| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4646 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |

| 34-18.45 as follows:

| (105 ILCS 5/34-18.45 new)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 34-18.45. School menu requirements; fruits; |
| 8 |
| vegetables; dessert; cheese. The Board must require schools |
| 9 |
| under its jurisdiction to (1) limit the service of dessert to |
| 10 |
| students to no more than once per week; (2) provide fresh fruit |
| 11 |
| and vegetables to students on a daily basis; (3) limit the menu |
| 12 |
| to contain only one item per day that contains cheese; and (4) |
| 13 |
| require a breakfast to include a protein, a whole-grain item, |
| 14 |
| and a fruit.
