Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Requires all companies issuing policies of automobile insurance to provide to a policyholder who submits certification of the completion of a course in the installation of a child restraint system a discount in the amount of 5% of the premium charges for the 6 months following receipt of the certification. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning insurance.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding |
5 |
| Section 143e as follows: |

| (215 ILCS 5/143e new) |

| Sec. 143e. Automobile insurance; discount for child |
8 |
| restraint system installation course. All companies issuing |
9 |
| policies of automobile insurance, as defined in Section 143.13 |
10 |
| of this Code, shall provide to a policyholder who submits |
11 |
| certification of the completion of a course in the installation |
12 |
| of a child restraint system, as defined in the Child Passenger |
13 |
| Protection Act, a discount in the amount of 5% of the premium |
14 |
| charges for the 6 months following receipt of the |
15 |
| certification.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
17 |
| becoming law.
