    Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Requires all companies issuing policies of automobile insurance to provide to a policyholder who submits certification of the completion of a course in the installation of a child restraint system a discount in the amount of 5% of the premium charges for the 6 months following receipt of the certification. Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning insurance.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended  by adding 
5
Section 143e as follows:

    (215 ILCS 5/143e  new)

    Sec. 143e. Automobile insurance; discount for child 
8
restraint system installation course. All companies issuing 
9
policies of automobile insurance, as defined in Section 143.13 
10
of this Code, shall provide to a policyholder who submits 
11
certification of the completion of a course in the installation 
12
of a child restraint system, as defined in the Child Passenger 
13
Protection Act, a discount in the amount of 5% of the premium 
14
charges for the 6 months following receipt of the 
15
certification.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
17
becoming law.
