AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4872

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4872 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The Election Code is amended by adding Sections
5 4-55, 5-55, and 6-110 as follows:
 
6     (10 ILCS 5/4-55 new)
7     Sec. 4-55. Registration and voting on campus at State
8 universities. In addition to all other locations at which the
9 election authority is required or permitted by this Code to
10 conduct grace period registration, grace period voting, or
11 early voting, each applicable election authority shall conduct
12 grace period registration, grace period voting, and early
13 voting at a central location on the main campus of each public
14 university of this State. The voting conducted under this
15 Section shall be available to any qualified voter of the
16 election jurisdiction, including students, staff members, and

1 faculty members of the host campus, notwithstanding any
2 provision of Section 19A-10 permitting an election authority to
3 designate the use of specified early voting polling places.
4     The registration and voting required by this Section to be
5 conducted on campus must be conducted as otherwise required by
6 this Code, except that the election authority is not required
7 to conduct registration or voting under this Section at times
8 other than the regular business hours of the host campus.
9     Each public university in this State shall make the space
10 available for, and cooperate and coordinate with the
11 appropriate election authority in, the implementation of this
12 Section.
