1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4924

2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4924 on page 1, by | ||||||
3 | replacing line 11 through line 14 with the following: | ||||||
4 | " 96th General Assembly must provide coverage for an operation, | ||||||
5 | either monaurally or binaurally, to implant cochlear implants | ||||||
6 | and cochlear devices, including all internal and external | ||||||
7 | components, and provide post-treatment services, including, | ||||||
8 | but not limited to, programming, troubleshooting, repairs, | ||||||
9 | replacement components, such as external speech processors, | ||||||
10 | microphones, coils, headsets, cables, and batteries, FM | ||||||
11 | systems, auditory training, aural rehabilitation, and speech | ||||||
12 | therapy for children identified by 18 years of age as having | ||||||
13 | hearing impairment to the degree that they would benefit from | ||||||
14 | implantation. These services must be provided by a speech | ||||||
15 | pathologist, audiologist, or physician licensed to practice in | ||||||
16 | this State. ".
