Amends the School Code. Provides that, except for an act of willful or wanton misconduct, any employee of a school district who informs a student's parent or guardian of the need for the student to have occupational therapy shall have immunity from liability, whether civil or criminal or that otherwise might result by reason of such action. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning education.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
5 |
| 22-60 as follows: |
6 |
| (105 ILCS 5/22-60 new) |
7 |
| Sec. 22-60. Student in need of occupational therapy; |
8 |
| immunity from liability. Except for an act of willful or wanton |
9 |
| misconduct, any employee of a school district who informs a |
10 |
| student's parent or guardian of the need for the student to |
11 |
| have occupational therapy shall have immunity from liability, |
12 |
| whether civil or criminal or that otherwise might result by |
13 |
| reason of such action.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
15 |
| becoming law.
