Amends the Election Code. Authorizes county clerks to use an electronic system for reporting deaths, when established as provided in the Vital Records Act, to purge voter registration records of the names of deceased voters (now, requires county clerks to purge voter registration records by using death-related records). Requires that persons in charge of vital records provide municipal boards of election commissioners with the names and previous addresses of persons over the age of 18 (now, 21) years who died in the past month.

| AN ACT concerning elections.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing |
5 |
| Sections 4-14.1, 5-9.1, and 6-62 as follows:
|

| Sec. 4-14.1.
Cancelation of deceased voter's registration. |

| Upon establishment of an electronic reporting system for death |

| registrations as provided in the Vital Records Act, the county |

| clerk of the county where a death occurred or where a decedent |
11 |
| last resided, as indicated on the decedent's death certificate, |
12 |
| may issue certifications of death records from that system and |
13 |
| may It is the duty of the county clerk to examine, monthly, the

| records deposited in his office pursuant to the Vital Records |
15 |
| Act that
relate to deaths in the county, and to cancel the |
