Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that if medical assistance reimbursements to any category of medical assistance providers are payable based on a shortened or maximum payment cycle as part of an agreement with the federal government to receive an enhanced federal matching rate, then medical assistance reimbursements for hospice services shall also be made pursuant to such shortened or maximum payment cycle. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning public aid.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
5 |
| adding Section 5-5.4f as follows: |
6 |
| (305 ILCS 5/5-5.4f new) |
7 |
| Sec. 5-5.4f. Hospice services payment cycle. If medical |
8 |
| assistance reimbursements to any category of medical |
9 |
| assistance providers are payable based on a shortened or |
10 |
| maximum payment cycle as part of an agreement with the federal |
11 |
| government to receive an enhanced federal matching rate, then |
12 |
| medical assistance reimbursements for hospice services shall |
13 |
| also be made pursuant to such shortened or maximum payment |
14 |
| cycle.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
16 |
| becoming law.
