| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5401 on page 1, by |

| deleting lines 4 through 17; and

| on page 2, line 12, by inserting after the period the |
| 5 |
| following: |
| 6 |
| "For the purposes of this Section, "overdose" means a |
| 7 |
| controlled substance-induced physiological event that results |
| 8 |
| in a life-threatening emergency to the individual who ingested, |
| 9 |
| inhaled, injected, or otherwise bodily absorbed a controlled, |
| 10 |
| counterfeit, or look-alike substance or a controlled substance |
| 11 |
| analog."; and

| on page 3, line 3, by inserting after the period the following: |
