AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5501

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5501 as follows:

on page 3, line 7, by inserting before the period "and 
4
achieving food security.  Promoting health and wellness through 
5
nutrition education, coordination of services, and access to 
6
nutrition programs is one such opportunity that can help 
7
Illinois residents achieve food security."; and
 
8
on page 3, line 23, by inserting after "toward" the following:
9
"improving nutrition and"; and 
 
10
on page 5, by replacing lines 21 through 22 with the following:
11
    "Members shall serve without compensation and are 
12
responsible for the cost of all"; and
 
13
on page 5, line 24, by inserting before the period ", as the 
14
State of Illinois will not reimburse Commission members for

these costs"; and

on page 6, line 13, by replacing "Subject to appropriation,

the" with "The"; and

on page 6, line 15, by replacing "administrative support" with

on page 6, by replacing lines 17 through 18 with the following:

"Department of Human Services shall also provide leadership to  
8
support the Commission.  The Department of Human Services and 
9
the State of Illinois shall not incur any costs as a result of 
10
the creation of the Commission to End Hunger as the 
11
coordination of meetings, report preparation, and other 
12
related duties will be completed by a representative of a food 
13
bank that is serving as a co-chair of the Commission.".
