     Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. Provides that a person may not sell, market, promote, advertise, or otherwise distribute an individual's social security number without that individual's express written consent. Makes a person's violation of this provision an unlawful practice under the Act.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business

Practices Act is amended  by adding Section 2III as follows:

    (815 ILCS 505/2III new)

    Sec. 2III. Unauthorized distribution of social security 
8
number. A person may not sell, market, promote, advertise, or 
9
otherwise distribute an individual's social security number 
10
without that individual's express written consent. A person's 
11
violation of this Section is an unlawful practice within the 
12
meaning of this Act.
