| AN ACT concerning public health.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and |
| 5 |
| Duties Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
| 6 |
| amended by adding Section 2310-655 as follows:
|

| (20 ILCS 2310/2310-655 new) |

| Sec. 2310-655. Training and education program on |
| 9 |
| playground safety. |
| 10 |
| (a) For the purpose of this Section, "public playground |
| 11 |
| equipment" means equipment intended for use in the play areas |
| 12 |
| of parks, schools, and recreational developments. "Public |
| 13 |
| playground equipment" does not include equipment in |
| 14 |
| restaurants or dwellings. |
| 15 |
| (b) The Department of Public Health shall develop a |
| 16 |
| training and education program on public playground safety |
| 17 |
| issues. The program may be presented annually and may be |
| 18 |
| available through the Department's website. The Department may |
| 19 |
| inform public health entities within this State of the program. |
| 20 |
| A representative from each affected entity in the State may |
| 21 |
| participate in the program. |
| 22 |
| The Department shall adopt rules, based on the U.S. |
| 23 |
| Consumer Product Safety Commission's standards, to develop |
