| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 6140

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 6140 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding | ||||||
| 5 | Section 6-205.5 as follows: | ||||||
| 6 | (625 ILCS 5/6-205.5 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 6-205.5. Suspension of driving privileges of person | ||||||
| 8 | with outstanding warrant. Upon receipt of a properly completed | ||||||
| 9 | and sworn affidavit that shall include, at a minimum, the | ||||||
| 10 | person's name, address, and driver's license information | ||||||
| 11 | stating that the person has an outstanding warrant and a copy | ||||||
| 12 | of the outstanding warrant from a law enforcement agency, the | ||||||
| 13 | Secretary of State shall immediately suspend the driving | ||||||
| 14 | privileges of the person. After the warrant is no longer | ||||||
| 15 | outstanding, it shall be the responsibility of the person to | ||||||
| 16 | apply to have his or her driving privileges restored.".
