2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 6140, AS AMENDED, by | ||||||
3 | replacing everything after the enacting clause with the | ||||||
4 | following:

5 | "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding | ||||||
6 | Section 6-205.5 as follows: | ||||||
7 | (625 ILCS 5/6-205.5 new) | ||||||
8 | Sec. 6-205.5. Suspension of driving privileges of person | ||||||
9 | with outstanding warrant. Upon receipt of a properly completed | ||||||
10 | and sworn affidavit, in a form prescribed by the Secretary of | ||||||
11 | State that shall include, at a minimum, the person's name, | ||||||
12 | address, and driver's license information, stating that the | ||||||
13 | person has an outstanding warrant for a felony and a copy of | ||||||
14 | the outstanding warrant for a felony from a law enforcement | ||||||
15 | agency, the Secretary of State shall immediately suspend the | ||||||
16 | driving privileges of the person. After the warrant is no |

1 | longer outstanding, it shall be the responsibility of the | ||||||
2 | person to apply to have his or her driving privileges restored | ||||||
3 | in a form prescribed by the Secretary of State. The person | ||||||
4 | applying to have his or her driving privileges reinstated shall | ||||||
5 | also submit to the Secretary of State a certified copy of the | ||||||
6 | court transcript demonstrating that the warrant is no longer | ||||||
7 | outstanding. ".
