| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 6141 on page 6, line |

| 20, by inserting after the period the following: |

| "The court shall waive the penalty established by this |
| 5 |
| subsection (i) if the court finds that the accused made a good |
| 6 |
| faith attempt to appear or for good cause was unable to appear, |
| 7 |
| or if the accused voluntarily surrenders himself or herself to |
| 8 |
| a peace officer no later than 48 hours after the time specified |
| 9 |
| for the court appearance.".
