| AN ACT concerning transportation.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 16-104e as follows:
|

| (625 ILCS 5/16-104e new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 16-104e. Minimum penalty for traffic offenses. Unless |
| 8 |
| otherwise disposed of prior to a court appearance in the same |
| 9 |
| matter under Supreme Court Rule 529, a person who, after a |
| 10 |
| court appearance in the same matter, is found guilty of or |
| 11 |
| pleads guilty to, including any person receiving a disposition |
| 12 |
| of court supervision, a violation of this Code or a similar |
| 13 |
| provision of a local ordinance shall pay a fine that may not be |
| 14 |
| waived. Nothing in this Section shall prevent the court from |
| 15 |
| ordering that the fine be paid within a specified period of |
| 16 |
| time or in installments under Section 5-9-1 of the Unified Code |
| 17 |
| of Corrections.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January |
| 19 |
| 1, 2011.
