HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois General Assembly are 
3
pleased to congratulate the organizers of Bethel New Life Inc. 
4
on the occasion of the organization's 30th anniversary; and
  
 
5
    WHEREAS, Bethel New Life Inc. is a faith-based community 
6
development corporation located on Chicago's West Side; since 
7
the organization's founding in 1979, Bethel has worked to 
8
"Realize God's vision of a restored society by empowering 
9
individuals, strengthening families, and building 
10
neighborhoods through community-driven, solution-oriented, and 
11
value-centered approaches"; and
  
 
12
    WHEREAS, Bethel New Life Inc. currently offers nearly 20 
13
programs through its Community of Elders, Housing & Economic 
14
Development, Family & Individual Support, and Community 
15
Development divisions; the organization strives to transform 
16
the West Side of Chicago into a Community of Choice - a 
17
community in which people choose to live, work, and do 
18
business; and
  
 
19
    WHEREAS, Bethel New Life Inc. will celebrate its 30th 
20
anniversary with a gala on April 22, 2010, at the Ambassador 
21
East Hotel in Chicago; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE

SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we congratulate the organizers 
4
of Bethel New Life Inc. on the occasion of the organization's 
5
30th anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness 
6
in the future; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

presented to Steven McCullough, President and CEO
